I was pretty nervous sending my kids’ childhood photos away to be scanned, I mean, what if they lose or damage those priceless memories? (By definition I had no digital backup of course). I was so pleasantly surprised and delighted by this company’s care and professionalism that I’m having them do a slew more. I tell everyone I can about my delight with DigMyPics because they are great!

Two years ago I compared DMP against another large scanning company, sending a test batch of slides to each company, swapping the test orders and sending them out again so each company was tested twice using exactly the same slides. DMP had consistently better scans, fewer or none scan line artifacts, better tones and detail in deep shadow and highlights, truer color correction and saturation, and slightly better detail in the jpegs. I also compared against a Nikon 5000, an OpticFilm 820, a $100 USB slide digitizer, and re-photographing the slides with a DSLR and macro lens. DMP came out as the best choice for high quality, affordable cost, and time on my part of the project. During two years we have sent 41 orders in about 20 shipments to DMP, totalling almost 5,000 slides, some of the slides up to 60 years old. None of them had to be rescanned. I'm happy with all the scans. You can buy your own slide scanner or digitizer, but if there are many slides to scan you also need to consider the time to check each one for dust and blow it clean, set the color conversion for normal or Kodachrome, rotate or flip over each slide, color-correct old or faded slides, and reposition the scanning rectangle whenever the slide isn't in the same place in the frame. A couple of tips - read the info on the DMP site about scanning and choose the resolution you need, or ask them. Package your slides well for shipment. Use a small box so they stay stacked together and repackage into a larger box for the entire order. If they're ancient or valuable you could scan them on a cheaper scanner yourself as insurance against the slides being lost or damaged in shipping, although no problems occurred in those 20 shipments to DMP from Canada. I sent DigMyPics about 1300 feet of film (some of which were over 50 years old), 31 video tapes (VHS, Betamax, 8mm, MiniDV), 116 slides and 2,600 prints. They did a fantastic job. They were fast, did a high quality job and answered all my questions promptly. Also, I think I got a live person on the phone each time I called with no wait. And the people I spoke with were professional, courteous and knowledgeable. Real time scanning and the ability to download was also great! I would not hesitate to use them again.

I've used Dig My Pics for many years to handle tens of thousands of slides, tens of thousands of feet of 8mm film, and hundreds of VHS tapes to support my local business helping seniors preserve their memories. Gave them several carousels o old sides. Digmypics worked with us to better organize them and was very responsive to our needs. I would highly recommend them to anyone for this type of work. I sent in 300 print photos ranging in size from 3x5 to 8x10. The entire digmypics process was outstanding. Easy to use website to see pricing and process, easy to see how to send in the photos and pricing was a good value. The communication throughout the process was fantastic, I always knew where my photos were in the stream. The end product is of really good quality, I am very happy with the result. Thank you for preserving our memories! Will recommend digmypics to everyone I know who has shoeboxes of printed photos!

This is an exceptional company! Communication was excellent and enormously helpful. The friendly, knowledgeable team members guided us and kept us informed by email throughout every step of the process. We received responses to our MANY questions by email in less than 24 hours and immediately if we contacted them by phone. Whether by email or phone, responses were always specific, detailed, and reassuring. Initially, we sent 200 feet of 8mm film in order to acquaint ourselves with the online editing process. We were so pleased with this ‘test drive’ that we immediately sent 75 reels (3700 feet) of Super8 mm film to be digitized and added to our first order. The entire project was a spectacular success! Loved the ability to view, rearrange, and add titles to all 75 reels online, and also the ability to grab snapshots (still images) of video frames by just clicking the camera button on selected frames. These snapshots are included in a separate folder on the DVD. In summary, this company exceeded our expectations! We now have preserved our family memories on beautifully packaged sets of DVDs and also on an external hard drive for safe keeping! We will definitely use Digmypics again in the future and will be happy to recommend them to our family and friends!

Great customer service, they answered all my questions before submitting my order. All was done in a timely manner just as they estimated. My 35mm slides were 53 years old. They had water damage which created some"fuzz" on them. Very pleased with the end results, all but 2 slides (out of 42) were clean and sharp. Would highly recommend their services.
