Digmypics did a great job on my family's old slides, and I am a photographer so I am very picky. They also did not damage any slides, kept everything in order, etc. None of the typical artifacts of bad scanning, such as softness from de-dusting, etc. occurred. When they "color corrected" images, they did not lose information in the darks or lights, so feel confident about letting them do that. (They actually don't do too much as part of their free color correction.) Staff is readily available by phone, is knowledgeable, and follows instructions (although this doesn't preclude some misunderstandings). All in all, an excellent service. However, there are some things to know: 1. If you let them crop, you will lose about 1/8" on each edge, which is too much in many cases. However, you can request no cropping. In this case, they will not color-correct. This doesn't matter much if you have Photoshop, because you can easily make the minor corrections they would do on your own. You should probably separate out a batch you don't want cropped, and let them do their normal procedure, which yields good results, for the rest. 2. After you add the price of the return disk and shipping, you will pay about 50 cents per slide. Digmypics is prompt and keeps you well informed of their progress. 3. They appear to have remarkably good dust-and-scratches capability, which does not seem to damage the image detail. If you are scanning old slides, you will be much more conscious of grain and other film problems than anything digmypics might do. 3. Digmypics will label each batch of slides with whatever happens to be on the outside of the container they arrive in, so be careful! It takes a surprising amount of time to label images, so if you can get the job half done by digmypics by careful aforethought, do so. even a good general label can be helpful for finding images before you have a chance to relabel. 4. For most 35 mm slides that are not going to be blown up beyond 11 x 14, there is little point in using anything over their basic `25-mb/35mm slide resolution, unless you just want more detail about the film grain, or your ancestors' bad focusing techniques or bad lenses. For a really good slide, you will of course get a better scan at 50mb if you need one, but most old family photos aren't that good. 5. If you are pretty good with Photoshop and have some very difficult slides, like underexposed Kodachromes or very badly faded images, Digmypics will improve them modestly with their basic service, but of course they can't spend a lot of time. You should expect to fix these yourself.

BLUF: scanned pictures look great; the folks at dmp did great work getting them balanced. Other pros: really helpful staff quickly answered my many questions; fast turn-around time; and reasonable price. Old prints returned to me in pristine condition. Cons: none at all. Hey, I recommended digmypics to my mother, so you know I'm happy with them!

I had 170 40+ year old slides converted to digital images. Some of the slides were discolored and others were in poor condition. The resulting images were much better than I ever expected. I doubted that the discolored slides were salvageable. Digmypics rapidly responded to my questions and gave me guidance about the way I could receive the final product.I'm very satisfied with the whole operation including the related costs.

This is my first experience with digmypics, but not my last. I sent off 1500 slides to you which would have been lost had it not been for your technology and expertise. As I previewed them, I was amazed at how much I had forgotten about the first few years of our children's lives. Thank you so much for stirring those memories and allowing them to be shared with my now grown-up kids and their own kids. Thank you, too, for answering my questions along the way, and for your own frequent updates as the project progressed. You are fun to work with, and as soon as I can get it together, I will be contacting you about decades of prints and negatives that I trust you will also preserve for me! DigMyPics is very professional. They stress accuracy and perfection over speed. When I got my order, all of the disks (Sets of DVDs for JPEG and TIFF, and Reduced Res. CDs) worked as expected. The slides taken with my NIkkormat and prime Nikon lenses (47 years ago) were digitized and processed to produce many stunning photos. Any flaws in the photos were due to my inexperience. Thank you.

This is the second time I've used DigMyPics to convert my father-in-law's Vietnam era slides to prints - over 600 slides in all and couldn't be happier. The team was very professional, answered all my questions, and followed up when there was a delay in shipping from my end just to make sure they hadn't missed the slides - who does that? I like that they gave a constant update on where the slides were in the transition process and that once the slides were complete, I could go in and delete any slides I didn't want. They did a great job of working with me on smaller folder sizes than typical which I truly appreciated. The quality of the digital prints was great and most important, my father-in-law was thrilled to see the pictures he thought were lost forever. Thanks DigMyPics!

The slides in our closet have not been touched for many, many years. I knew there were some pictures on them that I would love to have, but there never seemed to be enough time to look for them. I read about Digmypics and thought I would call to find out how they worked. I must admit I was a bit nervous about the thought of mailing my slides to Arizona! I decided to try it. I mailed them off and in no time, I received a message that they had been received. I was informed about each step along the way. One thing I loved was seeing the pictures before the DVDs were mailed. I was able to delete any that I didn't want, and I didn't have to pay to do that. The DVDs arrived in about two weeks and there are wonderful images that I had long forgotten. I will be mailing another order to be digitized in the next month. Thank you DigMyPics for a wonderful experience. I will place one DVD in my bank vault and keep one at home. AND I will destroy those old hard to view slides!!!
