How much digital space does my project require?

Slides and Negatives are 17 MP or roughly 5100 x 3350 x 24bits. Their size on disk can vary between 25MB and 41MB depending on the type of File or TIFF or JPEG. How dynamic the image is will affect how well a JPEG can compress.

Prints will vary depending on their dimensions but will be anywhere between 10MB and up to 100MB for very large prints.

Video Tapes take up about 3 GB of space per hour.

Movie film transfers take up about 1 MB of space per foot of film. So a 50ft real needs about 50MB.
