SilverLight and Firefox

As of right now there is a known issue with Microsoft's Silverlight program and certain versions of the Firefox web browser.  What happens is the Silverlight plug-in will install, but Firefox's security features can not run the plug-in.  You will see the blue dotted circle spin over and over again if this is the case.   All versions of Firefox 3.6. are currently not working with Silverlight.  You can check to see if you have this version by following these steps.

 

1. Open Firefox

2. Click on Help

3. Click on 'about  Mozilla Firefox'

4. Check for version 3.6.X (the X could be any other number).

 

If you have this version you will need to use another browser such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, or Safari.  Older versions of Firefox (3.5 and below) will also work with Silverlight. 

 

As of right now there is no update to when Firefox will address this issue with Silverlight.
